Went out today. Water everywhere I went, main lake by 121, dam, and west was 47-49. I'm a newbie to Lewsiville. Anyone ever do any good in this area? Not exactly where the pin is dropped, but curious if there is a good population of LMB in this west arm. Explored up there today. Since I haven't been on the lake more than 3 times, I was hoping to get an idea of which area of the lake holds the most fish.

That area is called the Hickory Creek Arm. It has some good fishing most of the year. The cove on the west side of Hickory Creek Park has a couple of very good points that hold fish and a bunch of flooded timber in the back areas. The cove east of Hickory Park has been good to me in the past too. The rip rap around the 35E bridge can hold fish at times. You can run a crank or chatterbait or spinnerbait along it and usually get a few bites. Just watch out for all of the construction.
Generally Hickory is a good fishing area. There are a lot of guys who only fish in there. It'll be slow for the next few weeks, it always is when it's cold. But once it starts warming up around mid-March, that area will really start producing. And there are some spots that should be badass when the spawn finally rolls around.

I don't go that far up that arm. You have to be careful once you get past the cove that is above the 'I' in Highland as there are a bunch of stumps. If the lake gets low again, watch out off the point that is above the 'A' in Highland. There are a couple of big stumps that have taken out a few boats.

first two arms on the north side just west of the 35 bridge are really good with a mid-diver crank or jerk bait...had plenty of success there. the rest is really not solid until April honestly.

My Navionics app says the first creek west of 35 bridge is off limits to watercraft. Is this true? Yesterday there was a lot bait at the mouth of it in 25fow but I couldn't get bit.

That was known as "Party Cove" at one time. Lots and lots of boats would pile in the at the same during the summer. The put up orange buoys at the mouth of the cove now to stop that so they all moved over to the cove with the small cut by the old dam (where the old fish hatchery once was). Anyway, between the orange buoys there is an opening to allow boats in/out and you are allowed to fish in there.

Right now I guess due to the high water all the orange buoys are up against the bank - water was very dingy and 49 degrees last sunday

It'll stay cold and dingy like that until April probably.

Saw water temp from 46 to 55 today. First time back on LL in quite a while, and I was surprised how stained the water still was.
