Grp 31 Sears Platinum Diehards. Beasts. More amp hours than most. Pretty expensive and heavy are the two drawbacks.

Didn't Walmart drop this particular battery? ...where they now only have the "Everstart 29DC"?

They don't always have the 29 Maxx in stock but I hadn't heard that they were discontinued.

I have used the 29 Maxx for a while and usually get about 3 years out of them. And like mentioned, if one goes down, there's a Walmart in every town.

No they had both when I bought mine two weeks ago. I think the regular ones had a one year replacement and the Maxx had a two year. Although I don't think I have ever had one fail early.

Exide 27's have been great for me. Usually a good value at Academy.

Maybe the lack of Maxx 29 just a demand/stock issue. There was no longer a labeled spot for them in the battery rack at two Walmarts I checked in the Houston area. Checking more than a dozen stores via Internet from Houston to Lufkin, every single store listed "out of stock".
