Never would have thought it. I am almost exclusively a largemouth bass guy. Today, on Clark Lake, I thought I'd try a spoon bait for LM bass. Couldn't buy a bite using my usual stuff. So the spoon it was. Went deep and started ripping it up from the bottom. Real hard, real fast. Caught three LM almost in a row. Thought "UREKA"! Never thought this pattern would work here.

Well. Two hours later, I had caught over 100 whites. And not another LM.

I didn't even know the things were in that lake. Much less so much fun to catch. I initially started keeping them, figured I'd keep a few and take a picture. Haha. I always cull float them to make it easy to get them out of my live well. Well. Ran out of tags. Just started keeping count in my head and throwing em back.

Aside from a little line twist, this was the most fun I've had fishing in a while. Some of these whites were in the 2+ lb size. Most were around 1 1/2. Every single catch was a keeper.

Sorry for the upside down pic.

Just thought I'd make my first post in this section. To let you white bass chasing guys know it's an easy haul at that lake.

On bottom. 18-20 ft. It's as deep as that lake gets.

Where can you launch? I checked Navionics and did not see a boat launch.

Yes, there is a boat ramp. Take Baldridge St. down towards the lake and you will see parking on the right for the boat ramp.

Don't use Navionics on that lake. It is nowhere close to accurate.

Well done! I didn't know they were in there until about 10yrs ago. We were crappie fishing at the bridge and started catching sandies.

Is there any type of permit required to fish Clark Lake?

This is the only sign there. Well maintained boat ramp. I guess via the city...don't know. But the trash can is always emptied. Lol m
