Winter is coming to an end in four or five weeks and it want be soon enough. I personally live to catch fish, a lot of fish and right now, I'm feeling withdrawals from not having my rod bent for some time. Mid March into April is on the horizon so it want be long before happy days are here again. Really my boat and tackle are ready to go with only a few things I would like to do before the season kicks off.

These fish don't want to show their self now but I do like to get on the lake and just run the boat around and look at some of my favorite spots. The first time I see birds working in a regular early spring spot fishing will be on and everything in my world will look so much better.

After all these years of guiding as soon as I tell my wife I'm on fish she will have my bags packed, meals prepared for a week, and in less than two hours she will be telling me by by, love you honey!!

The lake is absolutely full but it's a little muddy and the water temperature is 47 to 48 degrees sometimes 53 to 54 degrees. The fish will start biting when the water temperatures gets up to 65 maybe 70 degrees. It takes several warm nights in a row to make this happen and you can bet there will be a cool front come blowing in right in the middle of a warming trend and cool the water back down a few degrees, but by the time this all happens the Sand Bass and Hybrids will be feeling lively and ready to run for us. Between the birds working and a really good depth finder we will be on the fish. I'd say from mid March until mid August and by then it's just getting to hot and my wonderful wife is just ready for me to come back home for a month or two.

Let’s schedule a trip for spring time fishing catching Sand Bass, Hybrid Striper, Catfish, and Crappie!

Winter fishin has been nothing short of extraordinary this year, wish it could last longer. Spring will be fun as well, but not a big fan of live bait. Would love another month of winter.

God Bless America!
