Growing up as a boy, we went fishing a lot, because I liked it. Even though we lived and fished in a great fishing area (SW Louisiana), I was often frustrated, because we didnt catch many fish... Read more

excellent...i start praying for a catch days before i go fishing, but we have to remember He answers all prayers, not in our way, but His...yes/no/wait(next time)

I'm with TSpencer on this one. It might be different if catching a fish meant the difference between starving and surviving.

God answers prayers in His ways, not ours...we cannot begin to understand how/why He does what He does...that's where our faith in Him comes to power

I'm with TSpencer on this one. It might be different if catching a fish meant the difference between starving and surviving. When the Messiah told his followers to pray for their daily bread, do you suppose only the poorer ones were included, or do you think the middle-class and the better off followers should be praying for our daily bread also?

Do fish pray to not be caught? God only answers the prayers of the ones who don't get caught.

Poor analogy, unless you are fishing for sustenance. I feel confident that a large majority of TFF members, including you, fish for pleasure, not for "daily bread".

Well, if you do pray I'd recommend praying to this guy:
John 21:6-11 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. 7Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. 8And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
9As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. ( see, none of that catch and release ) 10Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. 11Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
