I feel like there is some secret trick to cleaning boat carpet that my father failed to pass along to me. That, or I just overthink everything I do to make my life as stressful as possible!

My carpet is starting to feel like my dogs back after she goes and rolls around in her own feces in the backyard. How do you all go about cleaning your boat carpet!?

Don't really clean mine but I'd just do it at a car wash or rent one of the carpet cleaners.

Soak it with water. Use a soft brush to scrub it lightly with water and dishwashing soap (Dawn). Rinse thoroughly. Now, here is the important part - use your Shop Vac to pull out the water and dirt that remains in the carpet.

You can follow by brushing the nap up a little after using the vac.

My 2009 carpet still looks new.

Note: some recommend using a vinegar and and water for the wash. There are posts about this on the Bass Cat owner's board.
