What's the deal tpwd says the water temp is 48-52? Have they stopped generating? Don't want to make a 3 hour drive if that's the case. Thanks for the info in advance.

Depending where on the lake, we saw 58-67 last Sunday.

It's been hit or miss on my last few trips. They were generating on a few weeks ago when I was out, and not this past weekend. Not sure if there's a way to check with the plant regarding a schedule.

If you drive 3 hours, I imagine you will drive by at least 10 lakes that are fishing better.

Well I live in DFW so Squaw is close to me but I'm not looking to go sword fight with everyone out there I just assume to go to Granbury over that. Options on power plant lakes are limited for me with Monti not fishing the same just seemed like it could have been the closest power plant to me that I have heard multiple good reports on, maybe I was wrong. What lakes you got in mind bud?

I wasn't trying to be smarty pants. I went to Bastrop, and the 40 mile drive was too far for how bad the fishing was. I would rather go to Lake Austin right now, and that lake is terrible. Weather is heating up and lots of regular lakes down here are starting to get decent. Your options are limited with high water in DFW. I wonder how Granbury is fishing, because it used to be an exceptional winter lake, but looks like Squaw continues to steal all of its thunder.

Squaw will be less crowded than Bastrop

We fished Bastrop Saturday and boated 24 fish. I would say it's fishing pretty good. No big ones though. A lot of 2.25 to 2.5 lbers.

The verdict is in. Bastrop fishing is great and I'm just a spare

It has fished poorly for me for the last 3 years. It does not seem like the plant is ever really "producing" either.

Be safe,

Bastrop is just fine. Brandon just wasn't throwing a minnow scented, orange skirt spinnerbait when he went......
