I'm trying to plan our 3rd Annual Guadalupe River Fishing Retreat with trip with Olhipi, Banker , and Mike, USMC-GY. We will be fishing Dunlap and Placid with Chuck and Mike, but we would like to hit Lake LBJ and Inks Lake for some crappie fishing. When would be a reasonable time frame for the spawn given the weather patterns we have been seeing.

I've caught them in spawn from late February to mid/late April. Just depends on how the winter goes. Early/mid March would be the best time overall.
I'm on other forums that deal with the old turbo powered Buicks.;)

Sounds like a fun trip. Have always wanted to fish the Guadalupe River. Going to LBJ tomorrow with one of the local guides to do a little scouting and try out some new jigs.

What do y'all think the water temp needs to get to for them to really turn on in the Guadalupe River lakes?
