I haven't caught any stripper in the river. The sand bass came on crank baits.

Hamm's report for today:
I went up River to the island. Lots of boats but many reported small males and a slow bite. I fished from 8 to 2 today with 7 keepers. Appeared to be all males. I know for a fact none of them had eggs. You Can pretty much catch them anywhere in the river but the bite is inconsistent. You may catch 2 to 3 in one spot and move to another and do the same. A few more weeks of warm weather it will be on like donkey kong. Especially once the time changes IMO

it will be fished out and crowded just like it has been for the past few years. the brazos is the new rowlett creek. such a shame

The shame is that some people give false reports like the last two above so people wont come sand bass bite is slow crappie bite has been good but off and on. they say (no fish in the river) and or fished out/crowded lol they know because they all ways there hoping you wont be good luck bad day fishing better than a good day at work.

Fished around Bee mountain today. It was a grind. Managed 15 keepers. 4 of those were females full of eggs. Caught them all trolling the bank. Fish were very sporadic as mentioned above. The bite was very inconsistent. Back to crappie fishing.
