Have 2 HB 1199 units and both have hard water spots. Apparently you are NOT supposed to use a glass cleaner... What and how do you get these spots off ? HELP.....LOL God Bless

I bought a small spray bottle of screen cleaner from a Dish TV tech and he assured me it was safe for the Humminbird screen. I have used it for a couple of years and it works great.I also read that Windex multi-surface with vinegar is ok to use.

Lee. I use a solution of half white vinegar and half water. If that doesn't do it try half vinegar and half dish washing detergent. I just cleaned one that was really bad with Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0. It is a fine scratch and blemish remover. I didn't get real aggressive with it. Does a really good job. I got it at Wal Mart.

A scratch and blemish remover on a sonar screen is just plain ignorant. You destroy the anti-glare coating with that [censored].

Sir, I may be just plain ignorant, but you shouldn't comment on something you have not tried!!

Humminbird recommends Windex Multi-Surface with vinegar. That'll work !!! w/vinegar... thanks, didn't know they made such a thing... God Bless That's what I use and it works very well. Use a micro-cloth not a regular cloth of paper towel.

LEE get the screen saver film that you use on iPads and other tablets and cut to fit your units. I did mine and then when it needs cleaning I use non ammonia cleaner. They will kept the unit from getting scratched also.
