Hey fellas, I haven't been to a boat show in over 20 years. Just wondering if it's worth the Dallas traffic headache to drive over and see if there may be a deal on a center console type boat. I could honestly be working on the weekends, so would really suck if it is mostly advertising hype.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I was wondering about it myself. I got a new rig last year, but still like looking at what's new and the wife wants to go somewhere to eat. There is one in March at Will Rogers in FTW. A friend of mine bought a new Xpress CC at the FTW one last year and got a good deal it looked like.

Thanks TCK, iirc, that is the last one I went too and would be far more convenient for me as well. Wonder if it will compare as far as inventory to look at..I have no problem waiting a month or 2.

You will have a lot of dealers in one area, I suspect deals will be there for the show.

JMO, but went to one two years ago. Not 1 bass rig there ! Most were large pleasure craft and jet fleas....
Maybe it will or is changing but, until I hear otherwise, I'm not going.
Would be nice to see local and nationwide tackle retailers there as well but, didn't see any.
Again, JMO
God Bless

For Bass Boats it very limited, geared toward the jet flea and pleasure / ski boat people from what I have seen.

There is usually some nice eye candy to keep you entertained also....

Thanks fellas, that is what I was afraid of, I just may wait for the Ft Worth show, at least the drive and traffic headache will be 1/3 of going to big D.

Redranger, at my age, I'm not sure it's legal for me to look at that "eye candy" isn't the cutoff around 40ish roflmao

Not a lot of bass boats but there was a wide selection of center console boats.

Lee, next year go to the Fun&Sun boat and tackle show in January. It's a good event especially on the tackle side of things.

Went Saterday there were a few bass boats. There was a good selection of center console boats from 16' to 28' and from $30k to $135k. Most CC boat were around $50k to &60k range .One thing I noticed 80% of the boat had Yamaha motors. There were more boats and vendors than last time I went.

Went yesterday, can't speak specifically to the center console boats, but here is my breakdown from a fishing perspective

1)Plano Marine has a Skeeter ZX250 and FXi 20 on display, really sweet looking boats
2) I forget the dealers name (North Texas Marine, maybe) - they are the only Lund dealer in Texas. They have the new Lund cross over bass boat, it's worth taking a look at. They also have the rest of the Lund multi species boats on display
3)Fun n Sun has their full line of Phoenix boats on display.

Other than that its 100s of pontoons, runabouts, wakeboard boats, etc. Some obnoxious things as well, like the marine audio vendors with music WAY too loud and 9 dollar pop corn.

Thursday and Friday after 3pm its free. From what i saw on Friday,
I would be really disappointed if I had paid for a ticket.

I'm glad I didn't go after reading this. I have a low tolerance for Dallas anyway.
