Either I got lucky today or someone is fudging on the reports. First time I have been there in a year. Got there about 11 and was lucky to meet up with a guy just leaving. He told me his pattern and the results of his day. I took what he said and knew where I wanted to go. Left about 3 with my best 5 going 15 to 16 with three that threw the lure back at me and two that broke me off. My fault on the break offs throwing 12lb line but still a great day for such a short time. Thanks to the guy that made my trip worth while.

Welllllll, care to elaborate? This is the "fishing report" section, not the "bragging boards". bang

And look at how many reports are being posted here, as you can see, most of us must suck so you are required to spill your guts!

Is it bragging or just fantasy?

LOL forgot the details. Shallow off color water 3' or less pitching watermelon red plastics in the most dense wood you can find. Also got a couple on SB and square bill while on the lake but most were in the woods. Lake temps were 56 to 58 while the places I got them was 61 to 63. Tried the lake area and then came back in to the wooded areas out of the wind. After breaking off the second one I went to braid and never got another bite though.

Have your nerves ready because you are going to have them tested when a gator hits the water close to you. They are out sunning up in the brush and don't like you sneaking up on them.

Dang 3' or less of water! Did it look like they were spawning? With this mild winter we've had I can see it being possible.

Good to hear that there's still fish there.

The good bite was that shallow but I did have some in the 4 to 7 foot range on small points. Those are the ones I caught on SB and squarebill. Never saw any fish on beds but with water temps in that range that is why I went shallow and in nasty stuff. Seems the nastier the better. I was just lazy when throwing the light line that I used on the lake and it cost me one GOOD one. Will be back next week to check it out again.

Have you been back yet? Any updates on the water temp. I am interested in the crappie spawn and usually 60 is when that starts.

Fished it last Friday and Saturday and had 58-59 degree water temp. Water was stained with high winds last week.

So is it hush hush on the awesome fishing or did you not catch any?

Club tournament with 14 people. 11+ won. they had a 5+ for big bass. My partner and I had 7 keepers total taking 2nd and 3rd with a little over 7lbs each. Squarebills and CR Hawgs early bite. 20-25mph winds hindered the bite as the day went on.
