Ticked a stump on pad this weekend and tweaked the prop shaft
I just had the lower unit replaced a few months and need to get it fixed
Anyone know what something like this is going to cost to have the shaft replaced?

Get a LONG piece of pipe, protect the splines on the shaft and get after it.
I almost had a coronary when I saw this done. But he got it within .003 that way without tearing up the bearing carrier.
It's not for the faint hearted !
BUT...this was on a Yamaha, and they say the prop shafts are made of softer steel than many others.
Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

He didn't say what outboard he has. If it's a Merc with the "fat shaft" it's probably not bendable like that.

Very expensive. I had mine on my HPDI straightened and haven't had any problems.
I hate photobucket.

The cost for a new shaft is about $300. Installation at least another $200-300.

Grew up on Tawakoni and Texoma before hybrids and stripers existed on either.

Wonder if Steve's can straighten one. I have a little wobble on my 250 SHO, but can't feel it when running.
