Today I had Donnie, from Lyons, and his son in law Jess, out on Lake Somerville. We left the boat ramp at 8:15 am, barely beating the winds. Forecast was 8 mph at 8 am and 14 mph at 9 am. So we made it to the fishing hole before the winds got really high. About 18 mph when we headed in at noon.

Bite once again went with the wind. As soon as we got there the fish were aggressive, as the winds picked up, the bite changed to a nibble. We had five fish in a row that were on the line for about 2-3 turns and got off, then the next fish we caught with one hook in the edge of the lip/

The largest fish of the day did not even take the bobber all the way under water. The bobber sticks up two inches and the fish took it down about one inch and just sat there. On the hook set, the hook was barely in the lip, and the fish weighed 6.66# on the scale.

They finished the day with 29 nice fish for the cleaning table. All fish caught using bobbers, in 6-8 foot water, using CJ's Grass Hopper punch bait.

I heard white bass are up the creeks.
I saw a basket of 10 nice crappie caught on Overlook Marina

I did see the report. I know Ollie personally and he told me about how light their bite was. It is amazing how light a big fish can bite.
