This will be fun. “Catfish Legend” certainly applies to Christian and Tom, as the interloper, I will share what I know. Christian, as I told you I have a game to coach but it should be over by 7 and I will head from Mesquite to MS.

I saw a report in the catfish section that they are already showing up shallow, can't wait to get on the water.

Good to see / meet a few more of the inmates.

Really Good talk by Christian and Tom.

I have always said I wanted to do three things on the day that I die, So I try to do them every day.....

1. Learn something new
2. Make a new friend
3. Spend my last dime

2 out of three isn't bad until then.

Thank you Christian and Tom for sharing your knowledge with us and as always, Thank you Mariner Sails for all your efforts and generosity. I know when I pulled out at 10, ya'll were still cleaning up.

Good times yesterday, thanks again Christian! I am thinking of putting on a channel cat outing in late May or early June when they spawn. I will even cook some up for a shore lunch after we fish. Maybe his Excellency (aka Jerry H.) will attend. In the mean time if anyone has an idea for an outing post it up.
PS Christian did you and Amanda get on them after I left?

Sorry I missed out on the actual fishing, I had a prior engagement on Saturday. I hope everyone had a good day on the water.

I am noticing a theme when it comes to catching catfish, however, and it is probably the missing cog to my whole setup, very likely the reason I am always unsuccessful.

I never bring beer.

Really though, I do want to thank everyone for what they did, and I had a great time learning and meeting folks.

Enjoyed fishin with yall on Saturday. Christain & Amanda as well as the other crew at Mariner know how to treat folks. Tuff conditions on Lavon guys. I Finally went shallow around 2:30pm and found #4. Just over 14lbs on peeled shrimp near the put in. Pulled her out of 7' water. Thanks for the beer and pics guys! cheers
Lets get together and do Iit again.

I had to jet a bit early - but good to hear that people were catching despite the rough conditions!

Catfish section report said they were shallow with deeper water nearby. If the warm weather trend continues they will be in real shallow on Lavon in the next few weeks.

Great job and good thinking. Those carp guys that were there when we launched most likely chummed! I wish I would have thought of that!!
