I just bought a Talon and I will be using a sandwich plate to install it to my lowe stinger, I have a 50hp mercury and I'm wanting to avoid taking it to the shop, has anyone ever installed one themselves? Any tips and tricks? Do I need to torque the bolts back to a certain spec? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Easy install

Lower your motor, put a block of woof under the skag
loosen all motor bolts to the end, but only remove one side at a time. Put your bracket on and put the bolts back in, then repeat other side.

Just so I have an idea, I'm about to ask about having this done at the shop tomorrow as I have no time to do it myself. I'm assuming they should charge a few hours labor?

I would think 2 hours tops, having taken engines loose before myself. (I own my own engine hoist, so no rental required.)

only takes 30 minutes or so to install.

if they are wiring the unit up also, then it will take longer.
