I love to throw one over shallow grass. My favorite is the V&M Pacemaker in threadfin shad and bluegill.

Santone Rayburn Finesse Swim Jig I like to throw this swim jig when I feel like bass are pressured but the water is nice and warm. It's more subtle than a spinnerbait but you can cover more water than when using a regular jig. These swim jigs are awesome and they're well made. I typically stick to darker colors for imitating a bluegill or craw, and white/lighter colors for imitating shad. The best thing about Santone is that they're based in Texas. Keitech Fat Swing Impact These are my favorite swimbaits for swim jigs. There's a reason why so many people try to imitate this style of swimbait! They have the right action and plenty of scent. They have a bunch of different colors and several sizes. Great swimbaits!

Do you trim weed guard like you do other jigs?

No need to trim the weed guard. Use a good rod with some tip action and good backbone to set the hook home. I like the heavy cover swim jig by Strike King- seem to always get a good bite on them! I've used them for many years, along with a few others that are no longer used. I always seem to go back to the Strike King jig.

I use the MPack swim jigs with the structure guard. I use two colors, white and bluegill colored jigs. I like the lure because you can use it pretty much anywhere retrieving it like a spinnerbait or bouncing off the bottom like a regular jig. Caught my only keeper in my club tournament yesterday slow rolling over the top of hydrilla. I use double tail grubs for my trailers.
