Well the weather was today, but the fishing stunk. Lol Never been on the lake before and threw everything in the tackle box. Flipped reeds on and off all day. Found hydrilla patches and tried c-rigs and senkos. Chatterbairs in front of reeds on windy banks and calm banks. Nothing. Not a bite. Fished from 20ft to 2ft. Only bite was a 8 in fish at the discharge on a drop shot.

Hmmmm. I caught a dozen or so yesterday flipping reeds. Between 7ish and when the wind finally started howling.... Around 10:30-11:00. Biggest was over 4 pounds. Longest was 18". Smallest was around 2 lbs.
Next time you go, try flipping reeds along straight stretches of main lake. Not points, not coves. Also try using a 1 to 1 1/2 ounce punch weight above a flipping hook rigged with a green pumpkin Biffle Bug. Flippem way back. I park my boat into the first 10-15ft of reeds, stand on my tip toes and flip to anywhere I can actually see water. Watch out. The big ones just pop the bait and try to take your arm off. Use 65 lb braid or, if your good at getting fish up quick, 25lb Seaguar. I get more hits with the Seaguar.
If you like drop shot....try it along the front of the damn in 25-30 ft. Also try it on the eastern side of the lake, just south of the first main point. Again, in 20+ FOW. The bigger ones suspend underneath the huge shad balls.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.
