Believe it or not it is in mid summer when the water is hot as h. L. Don't fish water more than 15 ft. Constantpursuitoutfitters jig in blue and chartreuse is the meal ticket. Don't know why these fish stay shallow but they do. Find brush. There is plenty

Crappie will spawn in late April and early May on Texoma. Fishing docks in winter in 14 feet of water is productive as well.

When I used to fish at Texoma for crappie we had good luck on the docks in 10-30' of water in the winter, and usually around the first of April a few males would move up to spawn, full swing spawn was usually around that late April early May time. Remember Texoma is a huge lake, and warms up a whole lot slower than the rest of the lake around here. The west end heats up faster too with murkier and shallower water, I've caught spawning fish as late early June out there. I always liked to fish the jig and bobber bite in the coves when the spawn started to heat up.

Currently water temp is 50 and lake is a little more than a foot low. Normal elevation is 617 and current reading is 615.79. It's going to be VERY windy today, out of the north. Sustained at about 25 mph with gusts to +40mph.
