Lol get into a few good fish from time to time. Have you gotten a chance to play with that rod in very much wind? I guess I could go up a line size but at 7'6" it's just short not a lot of rod to load and power through the cast. I really think that extra foot would make a lot of difference because that 8'6" 4wt I can launch that thing Even in heavy wind.

I hope we get to see some fish on one or zero wt rods. Curious as to what you guys are targeting with them.

I had a tfo 1wt for a little bit, i think the biggest fish i caught on was a 3-4 lb channel cat. It was alright, really didn't like how much of a wet noodle that rod was. Any fish would double over that rod and it just never really transitioned into actually having to use muscle to pull back. It didn't cast worth a flip in any kind of wind either. In the end it was sold b/c my 3wt was a more practical rod for what I normally do.

Right now I'm down to 2 rods. TFO BVK 3wt 8' and the 10' conversion kit. And a TFO Finesse 6'9" 1wt. It takes some getting used to. I had it out Friday morning in the wind. Have used it several times on the stocked trout and some small blue gills. 10" is the largest so far on it. It's not pretty, but I can handle a double nymph rig with splitshot and an indicator and still make 30' casts using the wind to your advantage.

Its like $99. I did a mod to mine. Removed the small 1" fighting butt. installed a 1/4" nut and epoxied it inside the reel seat. Turned a larger 2" fighting but out of oak ran a 1/4 by 3" stainless steel bolt threw it as well as the factory fighting butt. It added more weight to the A$$ end so I could balance both the 8 and 10' lengths with the same reel and line. the 10' version was really tip heavy. the extra 2' changes the action a bit but not to bad. My line of choice right now is a older Orvis Hydros WF3F. Casts well in both lengths, roll casts really well. Right now its out in the jeep, but in the morning I'll pull it out and snap a few pictures if you want. As for the 1wt, its a TFO so not to worried about it if I hook into a hybrid. I plan on chasing the whites with it, should be fun. I guess I could bust out the wifes 5wt until mine gets here. I have a Axiom 5wt on order Should get it this week or next.

Robert here is the mod that I did to my 10' 3wt BVK conversion. The 2" Oak fighting butt installed. Removed the factory fighting but and epoxied a 1/4" nut inside the reel seat. Run a 1/4"x3" bolt thru the center of both fighting butts. Adds just enough weight to use the same reel and line on both the 8' and 10' versions.
