Is there anywhere near Katy to catch the white/sand bass run. I can't go all the way up to Conroe.

Sean, the white bass move up into the Yeagua on Lake Somerville much earlier than other places. We start catching them in December on the Yeagua. Most other place the white bass are just starting to move into staging areas. Spring Creek would be an option for you. I've checked out Jesse Jones and Pundt park the last couple of weeks. There are several parks up and down the Spring Creek greenbelt that you can access and fish. Give it a couple weeks and you should start to see some reports of people catching white bass.
