I posted this photo on my 2 cents from an old big bass fisherman but it has so many pages on the thread I though you might get a kick out this post! 10 Bass 86 lbs.
One day catch New Year's Eve 1977 on Toledo Bend. [img:left][/img]

Wow. That's beyond amazing. I think a man can probably die pretty happy after a day on the lake like that. . .

Was that mount hanging at Fin and Feather a long time ago?

The photo of these fish will be on the cover of my new book coming out in March.
See My 2 cents worth from an old big bass fisherman post for more details.
It will be about my journey on Toledo Bend from 1969 on and will have a lot of history of TB as well as lures, techniques, maps, illustrations, photos and stories

What an awesome day, thanks for posting!

The stories of fish catches from T Bend back in the day are just insane. The lake is on its way back to the glory days, I dont know how it could get much better than it was last year but if it does I may sell my house and live in a tent at the boat ramp.

My mantle was not tall enough to hold this mount so this is what I have on my mantle.
Number 2 whitetail taken with a bow in 1993 in Louisiana.
12 pt 27' inside spread, weighed 223 on the hoof.
Took him with my longbow and a 1957 cedar arrow with a Bear Dead Head broachead at 25 yds.
One of the few times you found me in the woods instead of the Lake during deer season.
Wintertime big bass fishing took priority over deer hunting. [img:left][/img]

Not sure. I think he was just getting into the bait business.

you are going to actually give info on maps, techniques and lures in a book of Toledo Bend for all to see.........? I thought those were deep hidden secrets.

Very impressive SLW..
I saw a stringer like that once on the wall of a small marina on Lake Winnsborro back in the 60's-70's
called Taylors Little Big Horn.. I loved to hear his stories, and how he caught that one day string of fish..
I look forward to reading your exploits as well.
Thanks for the pictures, there awesome stuff....
