I have a duckett ghost I need to put a reel on and I was wondering which reel y'all think would be best for around 100$? I was thinking about just getting a Lews Speed Spool or maybe even try something new like the Shimano Casitas. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Shimano Caenan

Why not look at this reel too?! The Caenan is every bit as dependable as the Lews Speed Spool and Shimano Casitas. It's only $90 but it has a strong drag, smooth retrieve, and it's durable. It's gonna have everything you need in a reel to get that hawg in your boat.

I have a Lew's Tournament Speed Spool on a Duckett Ghost rod, the receiver is slightly wider than the reel foot.

Not a big deal to me now because I am used to it, but the first time I hooked a decent fish I thought the reel was coming off.

Daiwa Fuego is a nice choice. Packed full of features and performs great. Available in different ratios as well.

If you dont mind buying off eBay I would try that. You can get a much better reel for about the same to just a little more. I bought a Revo STX for $130. If not then check out the Abu Garcia Orra SX. They retail at $99.

Get the Lews or a Daiwa Lexa. The Daiwa Lexa is one of the best reels in that price range.

Check ebay

Lew's or believe it or not an Academy H2o Mettle. Made in the same factories as the big brand names and packed with good features and they stand behind them.

Cabelas has the Lews Laser MG for $49.88 in 5.4-1 ratio right hand and left hand in 7-1, did have 6.4 and 7.1 right hand as well but out now probably due to sale, might keep an eye on it.
