Very good point Buda-have to think about the percentages here. Either on the forum or in Texas in general-I imagine there are way more Skeeter owners than all others combined (well, maybe not combined but gotta be close!) so naturally you'll hear more feedback on Skeeters. And I'm not partial to any brand in particular-if someone walked up and wanted to give me a $60K Ranger with stress cracks, I would take it. And a $60K BassCat with stress cracks. And a $60K Skeeter with stress cracks. And.....

Not so much, my 2000 ZX185 has cracks all over the place.

I picked up my 04 ranger from the factory, pulled it to Bob Sandlin and it developed transom cracks between the engine mounting bolts during break in. Factory over torqued the bolts but they refused to pay for the repair. The next two years cracks developed at both sides were the consoles were attached, cracks developed at the curve of the extended transom. I sold the piece of dung as quick as I could. Then upgraded to BassCat.

All manufacturers have issues with gel coat do to EPA regulations, the VOC levels of quality resins were too high.

X2, the boats are great from my experience but for what they cost you'd think they would put a decent trailer under them... junk, absolute junk.

the trailer material has changed in the last couple of years to a c channel design that is coated with a rhino liner that works much better in north tx. if you put your boat in squaw creek,granbury ,pk,whitney or texoma it might as well go in the gulf saltwater.

Copy That on the Lakes mentioned above , my Skeeter Trailer turned into a rusted up trailer fast , Got one from ssmith and all is good .

Zero stress cracks in my last 2 Skeeters, 21' ZX and 20' FX , and no trailer issues.

Two of friends have Skeeters. Great high end boats....on a low end trailer. Both EZ Loader trailers and both had the nice matching fiberglass fenders falling off. Coincidence that both had major problems with their trailers? Going with NO. Both were great boats though with no cracks.

I have a 2004 Skeeter TZX 190. I rhino ligned the trailer myself. Looks good and water beads off of it and is almost no slip standing on it.

Learned my lesson back in 78 with a Skeeter Wrangler,never owned another one

should have saved your money and bought a Nitro..
3 years running and zero cracks.. zero issues except I broke a rod box lid lock because I stepped on it when it was locked.. my fault..
paid a ton less than a similar skeeter... fish don't care either ha

You will receive a ton less at resale as well.

A very true statement, but you also spend less. Truth is they all loose close to same $ value within 1-2k. U just get to choose your initial investment. Which will change your resale percentage in favor of the boat that costs more.

One of the greatest marketing schemes ever via Ranger. If u want the best resale percentage vs initial costs, buy an expensive boat. But if all u really look at is how much you will loose between the time u buy and sell within 5 years, its pretty close on all brands.

Example:
10k on a 50k investment is 20% loss. 10k on a 60k investment is a 16% loss.
