Discovered Cleburne State Park 2 summers ago. Fished it with my canoes and Hobie PA 14 12-15 times during 2015. Camped a couple of times. Love this little lake. Fishing is GOOD in warmer months. Crappie, LM bass, channel and flathead cat, good size sand bass, and even caught my first ever warmouths (google eye). Haven't tried in cold months. Would love to join Sunday, but I am out of town. Love to join you another weekend out there. Numerous brush piles, easy to find if you have electronics. Long line trolling crank baits especially productive for me in this lake. Caught many great bass although I don't target them. (Mostly target crappie there.) Plump carp in there, too, if you know how to fish for them. Let me know if there's another weekend you might go out.

D.L.

I drive right by it all the time. I'd like to give the crappie a go out there some time, too.

When I am driving down 67 toward Wheeler, there is a bit of lake on the north side of the road and I think I see a parking lot there. It looks like it might be a good place to catch spawning bass if they get up in that area. Of course, lots of water now, maybe not so much right in there later.

Brad

You are crossing Lake Pat there on 67. The state park is south of there. I think the lake is actually called Cedar Lake?

Yes that is correct Cedar Lake stay on 67 west for maybe 3 or 4 miles theres a sign on 67 Cleaburn State park can't remeber the rd. no. but might be 5 miles off of 67. What you're looking at on 67 is town branch i put my kayak in there regularly there is a gravel boat lunch there sand bass fishing is great on the creek when they are running haven't had much luck for bass tho maybe the spawn will bring them up on the flats there this sping if water stays up.
Barry.

That's 3or 4 miles west when you pass town branch which feeds into Lake Pat Cleaburn.

And that would be the Nolan River you are crossing on 67 on the North end of Lake Pat.

I haven't been out to the park since they put in the new fishing pier. They have done a ton of work out there over the last few years. I need to get out there and check it out!
