I also call it my home lake but I don't fish your end often unless for whites. Right now fishing Lewisville for LMB without electronics will be tough. You might get lucky and find the one of few wondering around in shallow water but most are deeper. You might have better luck in the creeks or in a smaller body of water like a city park. Many cities allow kayaks on their park lakes.

I fish for crappie exclusively on Lewisville. Every once in a while I'll get a catfish tickle and fish for kitties. I put in at Little Elm park or 380 depending on wind.

I really enjoy the early spring time crappie fishing in shallow water.

Haven't tried it from my yak, but a few years ago I walked into Stewart Creek (SE part of LL) and caught some sandies. If you can still park off of 423 just north of the Colonie and paddle up in there it might be worth a shot.
I mainly fish Prosper Town Lake from my yak for bass. It gets a lot of pressure for bass and can be pretty tough. OTOH, I've seen and caught some nice crappie and catfish from there which, I suspect, are only targeted by bank fisherman.
