Of course it's smart! Professional fishing is a huge financial gamble if it's on your own dime. If you aren't wealthy or have tons of sponsor support it's a terrible move to make. He has a family and a future to think about. He's a good fisherman, and he has a plan. No shame in what he's doing at all.

Very smart. Knowing James like I do it killed him not to be out there but he put his wants behind what his best for his family and his longterm goals. Actually I think its refreshing to see someone put it in perspective like he has. He will be young enough when he rtires to chase it full time.

Had to make the same decision back in early 2000 would not change it for the world watched my two boys grow up. Now getting them ready for collage and I'm ready to fish competitively
