I saw this news story a few minutes ago and it made me wonder if it's a legal bait in tournaments?

What do you think?

If I recall correctly this has been tired. I think like most lures it was durability problem. Maybe someone here might remember a name

Everything CHANGES......
used to hunt deer with a black powder gun,,,,, now you can use a 7mm
lures used to be wood & hand painted,,,,, now they are highly glossed plastics
next generation is "animated"....... and there is nothing wrong with that.
I don't think durability is going to be an issue this time around.
Shad,,,perch,,,baby bass,,,,tilapia.
send me one,,naw 2 of each

I am guessing that as of rite now, the lure would be legal in tournaments, I don't think that will last, we will probably see rule changes within the next couple of years.

I think it needs to be field tested before I can give an opinion on legality, so like Nutman said, send me a few and i'll get back to you with my thoughts. grin

If if it does past the test, all the major lure manufacturers
will be copying this lure...

Look at the "A-Rig"...!

Probably won't be legal on the competitive side of fishing, but if he can produce it at a reasonable cost who knows what the market may bring? If I were him, I'd prefect the thing and sell it to a big company and let them handle the "knock-offs."

Remember these, Flying Lure, Walking worm, Dance's eel, etc...etc...
imo, the only impact fishing device in a long time has been the Alabama rig..

Isn't "working" a lure a big part of the fun. If all you do is throw it out there and wait, wheres the skill.
and the sense of enticing a fish to bite. Might as well just go to Safeway.

Just my opinion.

Would never want a car that drives itself either.

For old timers like me, it wasn't that long ago when the hottest lures were the buzz bait, the slug-go, the chatter bait. So sometimes things come along that make a difference.
This ain't one of 'em. This guy was disenchanted by having to watch his father make all those casts and have to work the baits too. This lazy "counselor" should just take a .22 and shoot bass off of beds. That would be even easier.

Looks pretty realistic to me.

I'll take one of each: Shad, Crappie, Barfish, Bluegill, and Tilapia...

Reminds me of the lures that had the little pull string on the front that kicked like a frog except this one looks much better! I'm a sucker for new stuff. Ship mine overnight FedEx please!

The bullets dont go straight once they hit water... Need something with a little more speed than a .22 to make that work.
