I fished the river yesterday (Monday) for the first time this winter and caught 9 nice Crappie along with a 3 1/2 pound black bass, and about a dozen throwbacks. I was spider rigged with jigs dragging them on the bottom in the middle of the river. If Kevin Kubiak sees this, I was fishing the spot you showed me.
The fish were nice and fat and like tubejig mentions above, the egg sacs were pretty developed in the females. Also the water temp was around 53 degrees.

I put in at Taylor and was up the San Gabriel river, but below the primitive launch.

Just read your report Scott, glad you did good!
I have taken a few trips up river and have managed 8-10 keeps each time with a bunch of throw backs.
Tried night fishing up river and did not do as well.... very unusual.
Will be out tomorrow to try my luck again.

I went out to Foxbottom Thursday night on the bank, the walk through the pasture was a challenge with all the growth! Used green light with minnows caught a few small frys no keepers..fishing 5-6 deep.

Most of the bigger fish are in and around brush in about 16-18ft. Some smaller fish can be caught bottom bouncing in 16-20ft. I did not get out there yesterday until about 1:30, but caught 7 or 8 nice keepers and one nice white bass. Probably caught another 20 short fish. I was fishing in that same area Z man.

Hey Kevin, I'm glad to see you're still fishing Granger this winter, I thought you might be spending all your time at LBJ. Between work and all the activities with my kids, I've been struggling to get time to make it out to the lake. Hopefully I get a little more time to fish and see you out there.
