Anyone out there used these two products together? I love my HDS units and like the new features from adding one of the new trolling motors. Curious about the daily use with the foot pedal. Thanks in advance for your input!

I currently run the Xi5 and Lowrance Touch units on the bow & console. My bow Lowrance Touch has the Pinpoint Gateway connection and the Autopilot feature enabled. Autopilot feature is disabled on my console Lowrance Touch unit by choice since I do not wish control when at the console.
I find the Lowrance Autopilot feature useful on the bow to tell the Xi5 to go to a location at times.
On my previous boat, I ran the Minn Kota Terrova. Both are great deep-water trolling motors. Both function well on holding location for my bass fishing. I feel the Xi5 holds a little more accurate spot.
The Terrova has a little better hand-remote. The Terrova's foot-control is hands-down better than the Xi5's. I really dislike the Xi5's foot-control, but the rotation speed is faster.

Thanks guys. That was the problem I saw with the Xi5, the foot pedal. It seems weird compared to the feedback you get from a cable steer unit, but it seems worth it once you figure in the additional features. Hard to know until I actually try it for myself, but i truly appreciate the honest feedback.

I have the Xi5 networked into Lowrance HDS units on the bow & console. I crappie fish about 60% and bass fish about 40% of the time. The set up is a crappie fisherman's dream for taking care of boat control and holding you accurately over a brush pile. It lets you concentrate more on fishing. I do much of my bass fishing from the rear of the boat. My last bass fishing trip at Fayette Lake, I set the heading control to parallel the dam, set the speed at 0.2 mph, and fished shakey head plastics without worrying about boat control.
I have not used the foot control much, but feel it will take some getting used to as compared to my old cable steer TM.
If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

I have the Terrova,,,and love it. I use Lowrance so I cannot use the I-Pilot feature but wouldn't anywho. I never used a cable steer TM,,,,,always had hand control so my adaptation to the electric steer motor on the Terrova was not an issue & don't know why it would be an issue for leaving cable steer and going to either the Xi5 or the Terrova. The steering is great,,,,the functions of anchor lock and trackback are really great to use. The remote is fantastic when fishing alone. I highly recommend either.
