Installed new G Force cord and I don't like how long it is. Not only do I have to stand farther back from the TM to get the leverage on the pull but the handle flops around on the deck unless I put it under the rod strap. Any suggestions (short cuts) on how to shorten it by a couple of feet? Remove handle and cut cord then re-attach handle?

I don't think you have to remove the handle, actually. Take the plug out that covers the retainer, push retainer block out of the recess in handle loop, loosen, cut to length, retighten retainer, other steps in reverse. If you installed yourself I would think you would see how to make it shorter. Be careful not to cut off too much, better to do it "part way" of what you think, then use that for a while. Cut too short, and you've ruined it! Duct tape won't fix that one!

My old race car building buddy told me: "It's easier to add it off than add it on!"

I used bolt cutters and it sliced right through it with a clean enough cut to run it back through the retainer.

Thanks guys. I was wondering if simple wire cutters were going to be strong enough to cut the cable cleanly. Ruins it if I can't run it back through the stopper/retainer.

Thanks jwcromer. That makes a heck of a lot more sense. (that I didn't have!) Shortening it this weekend. If I hit any snags or problems will post so the next person doesn't repeat.
