Very nice stringer. I haven't crappie fished since I moved from Dallas to Austin about 8 years ago. I am wondering why the cold fronts will really get the crappie going for pre-spawn? Wouldn't the warmer weather push the fish into the creeks/rivers and shallow to spawn.

Trying to take my bass hat off and re-wrap my head around crappie fishing, but it is a bit different then White Rock creek when you fish the bend when it gets cold. Fished for 8 hours in the San Gab river off of Granger yesterday and didn't get one thump. Fished shallow, deep, in-between, heavy cover, stick ups, flat bottom, deep holes, etc. I was rewarded with one 3 inch bass banana haha

Surface temps started at 55 and got to 57 throughout the day and I assume probably made it all the way up to around 60 degrees today.

Thanks Squarehd and Bfail for the replies. cheers Squarehd. Depending what part of the river you want to launch at there are several nice ramps. Under IH 35 New Braunfels for Dunlap. Under IH 10 Seguin for Placid. Log Creek Subdivision off of FM 725 for Mcqueeney. RV Park off of FM 123 Seguin for Meadow Lake. GBRA Park just outside of Gonzales for Lake Wood. You should have no problem at all launching an 18.5 foot boat from these ramps. coolio Bfail: A good cold winter has always improved the Crappie bite on the Guadalupe. They will not spawn until early March. Water is usually between 62 and 68 degrees(for spawn) depending on what part of the river you are fishing. hmmm Fish are in winter patterns but will start staging in Mid to late February for spawn. This is what I have experienced the past four years when I started to fish for Crappie. eeks I mainly target the sunfish. hooked (Bluegill,Redear,Longear,Redbreast,Warmouth, and Green.).

Side Note: The Crappie bite is good right now! Hopefully it gets better after this cold front blows through. thumb

Also Nice Fish Curtis! That has to be your PB! partyon

Nice fish Guys! Seems the river is settling down after all of last years flooding. Friends of mine did very well fishing the Guadalupe last week. The upper river above Canyon Lake is picking up. Have you fished the upper end this year?
