 Finally! First nice mess of crappie for the year. For the past several weeks I've pretty much been skunked on Lake Tyler, especially the day after a front comes through. Not yesterday, I was able to find a pretty good location and the fish were consistent enough to make for a great day - even though the wind was gusty at times. Most fish were caught between 20-30' on 'C.R. Special' using 1/8oz chartreuse jig heads. I know Lane probably has more work than he can handle but the jigs and jigheads were purchased from http://constantpursuitoutfitters.com.

Katchin krappie...doin surgeries(filleting)...and givin hott grease baths until krunchy and golden brown is what it's all about!!!

@ Bud: It's a little above pool. Nothing like what's been happening at Lake of the Pines. Water temperature was between 50 and 51 degrees.
Thanks everyone for the replies. It's nice to give a little back to the fishing forum. I've learned a lot from trolling the forums and reading post from the regulars.

Lakes have been pretty tough to figure out this year with all of the high muddy water, glad to see you found some good ones!

Palomar,I know there are 2 sides to Lake Tyler old and new....the side where Key Marina is,is that considered the new or the old lake? Bring on the fish fry!
