I've got to relieve some frustration. I've been fishing pretty hard now for 5 years and still don't feel confident I can go out and catch them on a consistent basis. I've been out with a dozen guides, read anything I can get my hands on, and watch any and all videos. I know it's winter and it's suppose to be tough, but when the lake I'm fishing has a tourney and had number of boats get limits and 20lbs wins it, I would think I could grind out one bite. End Rant! Thanks for listening.

What or when was your AHAA moment? When you felt you could always put a pattern together?

I hear you. A year ago I went 3 months and never got a bite. Just when I think that I can do it, the lake will kick my butt and put me bsck in my place.

Consistent success doesn't come with one aha moment. It's a culmination of much time on the water, lots of trial and error and many aha moments. It's a process.
I've been at it for over forty years and learn something new every time I go out.

NOBODY goes out there and catches them ALL the time. Everybody has those days when fishing sucks. I always feel like I can catch some little ones, it's the 3+ pounders I have trouble with.

I felt that way at Welsh yesterday. I usually do very well there, but I stuck to trying to force feed them punching grass and it made for a less productive day.

If you are talking about The Pines, well it is extremely high and cold.

I'm talking about Pines last two weekends and Bob Sandlin the three before that. One bass the past two months.

Try different things. Get out of your comfort zone. The part that is hard about that (for me anyway) is the limited amount of time I have to try new things. I always want to go to my comfort zone where I know I can have success with my time.
