So if anyone remembers, I went in the hospital right before Christmas and just got released Tuesday after 28 days. I'm feeling and doing pretty good and am thinking about heading to A lake next Saturday. Question is, where to go? Doctor prescribed some fishing for stress relief to prevent stress on my heart right now.
With THAT being said, I love Squaw but it isn't always the most stress free fishing experience! I know quite a few area lakes are still up and probably a little muddy but is there anywhere that is fishing pretty decent right now that is NOT Squaw Creek?

Welcome back! I'm using your line on my wife this week: " my doctor prescribed fishing for stress relief"! :-) Welsh is a long way from Springtown. Never really thought of Squaw as "stressful" unless you are going alone and the select few who think they own the ramp berate you for taking over 3 minutes to unload! :-) Have heard Granbury is fishing good right now. Maybe someone will come on and confirm. Pretty stressless drive.

Longer than 30 seconds is too long at the ramp.

Talked to a guy yesterday that said Grandbury had a real funky color to it right now. Catching nothing up the river, seems most fish are out near the channel. Benbrook water color is good but haven't heard any reports. BTW, don't know you - but happy your're out of the hospital. Don't be catching any DD and adding stress. Good luck!

Squaw CAN be stressful to me just having to deal with sheer number of boats for small amount of good fishing water. Especially if it's windy. If I'm fishing serious and hard I can deal with it but at this point I just want to get on the water and fish without having to deal with tons of other people.
Oh and my wife was there in the room and involved in the discussion when I was "prescribed" fishing for stress relief!

I was doing OK on granbury before the last big set of rain, it muddied the water up pretty bad and I didn't do to well on my last outing.

Flip the docks on Granbury. Water should clear up with the warmer weather this week.

Kind of a pain, I believe it is 30 dollars to launch and you can't fish it all day either..

Does anyone have any updates on Lake Granbury? I can't decide if I want to flip docks or hunt down brush piles of crappie Saturday......

Glad to hear Bridgeport is kicking out some crappie. I love that lake, and have a feeling that it will be a good spring and summer out there for bass.
