Lake Somerville is about 1 foot above full. Favorite island landmarks in the lake are about to reemerge so the lake doesn't seem so foreign. Fished favorite spots with no luck but found a couple of cormorant roost trees and caught 7 of the fattest, sleekest, healthiest looking winter catfish I've ever seen. Biggest was 4#. The bite was light. They would just move the cork then in a few seconds would slowly take it down. Could not get them excited any time during the day. I guess this is a typical winter bite. So they are definitely around those cormorant roosts and are thriving there based on how they looked but we fished a lot of tress w no luck at all so it was no bonanza. I guess you just keep moving from tree to tree picking them up here and there. Maybe it was just a slow day for them too. Beautiful day on the lake.

We fished Granger yesterday, almost went to Somerville. It was slow on Granger for the cats for us. We were drift fishing and then hit the trees. No luck. Went back drift fishing with 2 rods for white bass and the rest for cats. Found the white bass. But I much rather have the cats. I figured after the front it just slowed them down. Anyway, can't catch nothing on the couch. Might see you over at Somerville before long.
