The local gangs like to dispose of their bodies there...usually by setting a car on fire. It has happened at least 3 times in the last 5 years or so.

In contrast, the Arlington side is perfectly safe and provides some good opportunities.

Probably the worst place to fish in the world. I have never caught anything on that side.

The funny thing is TPWD reports that this is an awesome channel cat fishery but I have never had much luck there.

I might add that every time I say this some greenhorn will chime in and tell me how awesome it is but yet not post any pics of a cooler full of fish. Perceptions vary wildly. A good channel catfish lake is one where you can pull out 15 - 20 fish on a regular basis. If I am going to break out the chum and Sure Shot I want something for my trouble.

There is good fishing at the warm water outlet.....especially when they are generating in 20 degree weather.

no greenhorn here. there is consitent numbers to be found at that boat ramp off ramey. launch and tie up to the cattle panels just north of the ramp when they are generating and you will catxh numbers. but the ramp is a straight up gjetto party and you usually have to leave your trailer in the water on the ramp because they take up all the parking spaces. And i wont lie to you when i tell you that i get scared when i go cause i dont fit in with the crowd that parties in the parking lot. needless to say i dont launch there often but have never put the boat back on the trailer without fish in the box.

Why not launch on the Arlington side?

That is a peak plant and doesn't tend to run unless it is really hot or really cold.

Personally I like to be on the other side of the wall...it is safer if the bullets start flying.

too much open water to cover in the 14' vhull i was fishing out of at the time. i would definently launch at the arlington ramp these days. honestly it was a stupid decision to launch at that ramp and i do not recommend it at all. but the fishing across from it is great and your correct they dont generate often enough. if they arent generating the fishin isnt good.
