Is anyone catching any Sunnies? Have not gotten any while fishing the Guadalupe River this last three times out. Did manage several nice bass, some Crappie, and a couple of Channel Cats. No Sunnies! Anyone having any better luck on the Sunfish?

The Guadalupe is super slow for the Sunfish. nuts Having trouble finding em. peep Also the GBRA is lowering the lake levels on the river lakes for dam maintenance. Dunlap is about five feet low right now. hmmm I have also fished a local creek the other day and only caught two small Bluegill in four hours of fishing. bang Picked them off around brush piles. hooked Keep looking and patients. hide2 That is what fishing is! coolio

I've only been pond fishing with the fly rod. I've had to work hard to catch them. About 5 sunfish and 3 small bass per hour.

I noticed Mcqueeney was down last week. Fished it Saturday and it seemed is was getting back up. I guess the past flooding, weekly fronts, and the water levels are playing a part. Have not fished the far east side in over a week. Hopefully will be making a trip there soon.

Sure glad I am not the only one having troubles. I fly fish Cibolo Creek several times a week and all of a sudden this past week they are super hard to come by. Those I do catch are on small (size 16-18) bead head midges and size 14 bead head wooly buggers fished deep and real slow. Water is super clear and the bites have been barely detectable bumps. hammer

Finally caught a couple of bluegill this afternoon. Also caught a good number of yellow bass (bar fish). Worms on jig heads for the bluegill, yellow bass were hitting jigs and worms.

I was out fishing the creeks for white bass Saturday evening with a 1/6 ounce rooster tail when I ran into a hungry colony of bluegill. I caught a few then started throwing a 3 inch curly tail jig but they just kept biting the tail. So I went back to the rooster tail, they couldn't get away from that treble hook, LOL. I end up catching 9 small LMB, 3 white bass, 3 crappie and 6 bluegill on the rooster tail.

I tried pond fishing yesterday evening but it was slow. We have a couple of warmer nights ahead so it may pick up a bit.

Been catching as many as I want from my pond...it's been warm enough that they haven't stopped feeding. Here's a picture of one that is significantly larger than the 1.25 pounder I weighed yesterday.
