I hear great things about this line on a regular basis and am thinking about giving it a try. One question...Does it have a lot of stretch? I cant stand lines that feel like rubber band when you set the hook.

I have not used McCoys but I have used P-line and to me the only difference between it and mono is maybe a little less memory. As far as stretch though I guess I am not good enough to be able to tell any difference in how much a line stretches on a hookset. I set my drag to hopefully not break off.

I've never used that copolymer but I'm pretty sure it does have some stretch to it. I'm a huge P-line fan. If you want something similar then maybe try P-line CX. It's a copolymer with a fluorocarbon coating. It has less stretch than traditional copolymer (P-line CXX) without sacrificing much if any of a pure copolymers characteristics.

I have used McCoy's Mean Green as well as P Line CX Premium. The McCoy's is similar to the CX Premium. It does not have a lot of stretch, has low memory and is extremely strong. IMO it is a good line overall.

I use both the mccoys m/g and pline cxx and there is much difference,Cxx is much tougher and resist abrasion but it has more memory and harder,I use it 90% of the time and mostly 10-12#test.Very rare to get broken off and if you do it because you fail to check your line after catching fish or because fish was hung up in heavy stuff.McCoys is easy to throw and lays out good but wont hold up to much abrasion,your gona get broke off lot more often in cover with it.I use 15# when fishin it and in more open water. I only use Copolymer.

I have used McCoy's since 2000 and I love it. I have also fished Pline Cxx and have to agree, it is TOUGHER, but you also must take into context the line diameter size. Pline CXX 12 # is more like McCoys 15 # test, or even 17 # test. Pline is MUCH bigger in diameter than most lines out there, given similar test sizes. McCoy's does have some stretch to it, I say a little more than Big Game. If you are looking or a copoly that has little stretch in it you might try the PLine CXX, but remember to look at similar diameter line, NOT similar test strength. Personally, I use McCoy's on everything except my C-rig, but I use it as leader material on it. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

McCoys Mean Green and CXX are the only two co-polymer lines that I use. Mean Green for all around use and CXX if you need added strength but like Thad said, look at the diameter of the CXX not the #test rating on the box when choosing it.

Just got my McCoys Mean Green 15 lb in the mail today from Tackle Warehouse. Only line I use other than the McCoys braid on my other rods. I really like the line especially for spinnerbait, RatLTrap and topwater.

Yes it has a bunch of stretch and isn't very abrasion resistant. Don't believe the hype and save your money.

The lowest stretch Copolymer is Trilene Sensation followed by P-Line CXX and Super Silver Thread

I have used McCoys for over 10 years and really like it never had a problem with it. Last couple of months I have used some Ardent Gliss it is the smallest diameter of any line and casts great in short those are the only lines I use.

Copolymer line all the way. Low stretch and very strong. My opinion is you cannot drive a nail in the wall with a noodle.

If line stretches or rods give to much this slows down the penetration of the hook.Take out the stretch and you will get better hook ups I promise.

Plus you can tie any knot with it. I like CXX P-Line and have not tried McCoy line cause I am very happy with P-Line and Mustad made one years ago called Pro Plus which I still use also.

It's a saltwater line that was made to whoop redfish, trout, and snook hanging out on oyster reefs, mangroves, beaches.. So it's got great abrasion resistance and it was originally designed for spinning gear so it casts like a charm.

I've used Mccoys a few times and it is great line. It's smooth and strong and relatively low memory plus it's fairly cheap. It does have some stretch, I'd say a little more than Big Game which I've recently gone back to. It's great for reaction type baits or as shock leader on braided line. The P line CXX is tougher and less stretchy but it has crazy memory, at least in my experience. I've decided that big game covers just about all my bases other than invizx for deep cranking and Power pro 50-65lb handles any braided line needs. I did drink the KVD line conditioner kool aid recently and I've gotta tell ya, I think it makes a difference in memory and life expectancy of your line.

i use Mccoys in 10 and 12lb and I like it. I have used the P-line CXX and like it as well....but as others have said it does have some memory. If I run out of Mccoys, nobody around here stocks it, I'll spool up with the P-line. A little KVD spray and it handles much better. Can't go wrong with either line in my opinion.
