I'm pretty new to crappie fishing and am looking for suggestions on marinas. I'd like to fish from shore if possible but also have a kayak that I can use. Grapevine and White Rock are the locations I'm looking at going to, any tips on working over the marina docks would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Are you looking at fishing the marina from the kayak?

Correct, from the kayak. It's inflatable so can't use a depth finder to find brush piles so figure docks/marinas are my best bet on the lakes.

You can definitely shoot the marina docks on Gvine but as far as catching fish it will be tough. The fish are usually very close to main walkway. I would think if you are going to catch any that way the pontoon boats would be your best bet and the closer to March and April the better your chances of catching a few.

This plus I would recommend that you stay in you kayak as they get very upset if you step onto their docks.

Another thing to look for is rod holders, filet table, and line going into the water that might be holding brush and ask if you see anyone if they mind you fishing there. They might just offer some information.
Be very careful out there. I don't think that I'd take the risk of fishing from an inflatable in water that is this cold.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together
