We just did a trip down to Lake Comodero with Speed Jr.'s group and had a great time. My fishing partner Brooks McCall increased his personal best from 8 lbs up to this 10.2 pound mama. It was no easy task either. He hooked her in the bushes on the back side of an island and she bolted for deep water taking him under the boat a couple of times. He did everything right though it seemed like an eternity until the guide got her in the net. He was shaking just a bit after the fact but we got her back in the water and she swam off giving us all a splash. Congratulations Brooks!

Nice fish and con-grat-u-lations!!!! Looks like Ron has improved the quality of his fishing boats!!! Not what I used several years ago... and the guides might be better also? Thanks for sharing.

Congratulation on the PB!
What baits worked best for you? Hey Cali, I hope my PM got to you in time. Mike, What worked best for us were Texas rigged plastics.... shocker, I know, in watermelon red. I caught my 9 on a Santone Swim Jig (Sloppy Joe) with a Rage Tail Lobster as a trailer. Later I was just pitching the Lobster into the bushes with a 1/2 oz tungsten and a rubber nail. I would say we caught the most fish on the Missile Baits D-Stroyer (watermelon red) and that's what the 10 came on. I had 20 lb Tatsu spooled up on most of my rods and didn't have any break offs even though you will be throwing in some pretty rough looking stuff. Big spinner baits from Terry Oldham worked well also but it was hard not to throw the plastics. We did throw some big swim baits Ken but didn't do well on them. There are a couple of phrases you need to master before you guys go so you can better direct the guides....... "Palo" means bush (slang, I think) because it really means stick but that's what the call the bushes. Also..... "Piedra punto" is roughly "rocky point" and that's where our best fish came from. Of course wind into either one was what you wanted. The 10 came on the back of "horse island" so be sure and fish those bushes thoroughly. Tight lines gents, Jackson
