Does anyone fish for sand bass on chambers this time of year? I have been told they are decent towards the damn but I can't find em.

The lake is really muddy right now. The guides are fishing for catfish mostly from what I have read. Best bet is to drive a little extra and head over to cedar creek where fish are still being caught.

Robert,

Talked with one of my Guide friends (Britt Stewart) last week and he had found a few Hybrids and some small Sandies on the Windsock and Pelican Island. You'll need to downsize your Slabs and go to Deadsticking if you do find some fish. The Sandies will be hugging the bottom and difficult to pick out with your electronics.

I'd probably recommend trying another lake unless you like Catfishing. It's been short of AWESOME all Fall and Winter.

Good Luck!

Years ago you could limit on sandbass all fall until mid January or first of February. Not so much anymore. The long string of drought years really took its tole on the lake's striped fish. We worked hard a few weeks back and managed to put 10 whites in the boat. One here one there. Small schools that scatter quick. Good news is the lake is on the mend. Great spawn last spring. Good fishing extended later into the fall this year. Next year will be even better. As for hybrids, RC hybrid fishing has always sucked in the fall and winter. I'm not sure where they go but catching anything other the the occasional hybrid here and there is almost impossible.
