I m sure most of us that are fishing cold water lakes right now have notice an insane amount of bait, and fish on your graphs. This post is to and hopefully generate Ideas and opinions to maybe help some folks catch a few and maybe learn a new technique while fishing for these lock jawed suspended winter bass!

If the fish are on completely Lock jaw and the water has good visibility I like to vertical fish them with a simple, but yet domaniting light jig head with a fluke and I hold it completely still as possibly can!! And just wait. Also I will try a drop shot with a wacky rigged senko. And also hold it as completely still as possible!! That is key when bass are in lock jaw mode!

Now sometimes when they are more active I like to chunck a swim bait and count it down to the depth of the fish or vertical fish a jigging spoon, lastly if the fish are active I will lob an A-rig out there. Hope this helps someone.

I like a super slow sinking jerkbait.

A-rig is the best winter suspended bass bait. What Rudy said about the timber is right. They are much easier to catch when next to any type of cover. Also sun, wind & clear water helps that bite too.
