I bought a shark fishing setup, Penn 115L2 rod and reel with 600 yards 60lb line, and want to try it out. What bait/tackle combo are my best chances of catching what this weekend?

some decent trout action at Location #12 a few days ago - afternoon bite was good, throwbacks as well as stringers ... nothing big but some good table fare for the family.
