That's the power of the forum Garvin, people helping people, it's a beautiful thing. glad you improved your catch rates!

FACSR, you can find it on Amazaon, "High Percentage Fishing"

where did you get the data from for the chart? Is it Texas lakes or national? I was just curious if it applied to lakes up north or if it was from a certain section of the U.S.? Its pretty cool data either way.

Thats a good question. The catch data was from as far south as Falcon lake to as far north as Canada. I tossed out data that was on the extreme end of the north/south spectrum. What you wind up with is essentially a graph that averages out for a hypothetical lake somewhere around 35-37 degrees of latitude. If you are fishing northern Wisconsin youd shift everything probably two months to the right and if you were in South Florida probably 2 months to the left.

I've probably spent in excess of 80 hours on the water with Josh. I've crossed paths with many folks in my life and I can't recall a more focused, determined and data driven individual than Josh. We've spent hours talking about all the variables that affect the bite and I've been able to incorporate some of that data backed info into my own game plan and no doubt it's made be a better fisherman.

Congrats on a great accomplishment, Josh! I can't even imagine the time, money and effort it took for you to compile enough information to write a book. Truly impressive!

Very interesting, will be purchasing your book. Looks like I'll have to do more late evening fishing in the Summer.

Did you publish any data from 10pm to 5am?

Yes I'm aware. To the best of my knowledge I'm not violating rules posting here. I'm just sharing something I worked very hard on that's bass fishing related. I thought a few folks might find it interesting. PM me and I'll send you a copy. You might as well!

Don't take what old Delvec says personal.
He can't help it. Someone pissed in his post toasties years ago.

Unfortunately there were not enough data points to draw statistically significant conclusions for nighttime fishing hours. That said, I can tell you I'm a firm believer it's one of the best ways to improve your chances at big fish. I'm firmly in John Hope's camp that many big fish primarily feed nocturnally. They are either wired that way or adopted the habit to avoid fishing pressure. There is an entire chapter on "Moon Myths." I did a complete analysis of the impact of Moon Phases on catch rates. It's one of the more interesting and likely contentious chapters.

I do John. I actually used to live in WI. Actually looking at the moon phase data for Musky a few years back is what gave me the idea for this book.

Cool. I can't catch 'em worth a damn. Maybe your book will finally tilt things in my favor.

Thanks for all the support and kind words guys. Yesterday the book was the #4 best seller in the fishing section on Amazon. Given how small the niche is that sounds better than it actually is, but very cool none-the-less. As a first time author the whole process was a lot of fun. For any of you that bought the book, please feel free to PM with any questions you have as you work through it. I didn't write the book to make money, I wrote it because I love fishing. I'll jump at any chance to talk more about it.
