Went over to Granger yesterday morning and tried to fish before the front came in. Ended up the day with 6 cats. Biggest one being 3 lbs. Had a few rain showers around and the wind was really not a problem. We drifted the Taylor Park area and caught the cats in about 20 ft of water right on the river edge. Bait used was cut carp, shad and CJ's shad punch bait. Cats caught on the punch bait.

I caught one channel over there at Stilling Basin or something like that-- where they let the water out. A few peeps were there, catching small crappie, mostly throwing back. Eventually left and hit the lakeside of the Dam, where we were sided by a few other fisherman that came through the day-- We caught nothing there, though the guy next to us, with his son caught 2 small keepers and a 5 lb blue-- he at least left with a meal!! That right about an hour before the front came in and the lake looked like the ocean :P

What type bait was ya'll using? Thinking about going again Sat. Just saw where the winds will be back out of the south about 5 mph.

We were using chicken livers, minnows and danny kings blood flavor bait-- Cast net didn't yield any shad where we were at all I want to catch a 30-40 lb cat so bad! none of my friends wanna go in with me on a guided trip either, hah-- gotta wait until my bud gets his boat going!

The guy that caught the 5lb blue next to us got em on a nightcrawler!
