15 inches is a pretty good number for a true cat boat, kinda hard to believe

With the motor up. A prop is 15" and that midsection is at least 15" in the water.

Do you have any idea the size air boat it would take to drag that tuna schooner off a sand flat?

I will say I almost needed a air boat this duck season.... Ran across what was wet mud for 500 yards with a full load (4 guys 8 dozen decoys and blind)... Wont do that turn again.

My uncle always kept several diferent boats. One for inshore and one for offshore. He also had a small shrimp boat. Decide what you like more and get that kind of boat. You can get an inshore boat that you take off shore sometimes or a offshore boat you use limited inshore. No boat will do it all. Of course can you and should you are two different questions. I have taken a 14 ft. aluminum boat five miles offshore before, when I was young and stupid. That was a rough ride back.

Granted those Gen 2 Americat's do run nice and turn great. Not sure how skinny you could go. If you came off plane in the wrong place, you would never get it out. I have looked at them before though and would love to have one for fishing offshore, jetties, and bayous.

nice looking boat for sure, seem to be well made, but I would be scared to venture into any shallow water (relative term) Keep a few hundred feet of rope on board for sure I would get a true inshore boat, with true shallow capabilities, and just wait for the right conditions to make a rig run. But I would rather catch a trout than a wahoo, or snapper

Try to get something that does both, you end up with something that does neither.
