I poured a bunch of 1oz fb jigs over the summer and never finished powdering them, been thinking lately about doing some in a pearl white head and building a skirt in a shad type pattern and doing a big bladed jig. Not sure if anyone on here as tried this or if it would be effective. I personally like a blade on an Arkie type head but my mold only goes up to 1/2oz. I was thinking maybe all white or white with a few strands of brown withaybe a speed craw type trailer or small swimbait.

What do you guys think?

The Gambler brand used football jigheads.

I throw lots of 3/4 oz. and 1 oz. in Mexico. Don't remember where I got them but they swim great. They have a Spinner bait type head. The head has a short arm about 3/4 of an inch that the blade is attached to. This increases the wobble of the heavy jig.

I believe it would be even better to build a coupling arm about that length to go between a heavy Arkie jig and the blade. It is not necessary; but I have played with it and if you really want the action then that tiny extension will do it.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

I build mine using a arky style head in 3/8-1/2 oz and attach blade directly to the 5/0 hook eye.

I build my regular bladed jig with a arkie head im it my mood is probably the same as yours and only goes up to 1/2 oz I want a heavier head to fish it in 15-20ft and that's why I build some with the 1oz fb head. Also poured some 1/2 oz heads for big hair jigs a few days ago to try and fish them in the deeper water.
