Smith creek was good last week. Discharge was good, caught them at the discharge on shakey head, dropshot and crig. Warm side of 127 bridge was decent. I went way up in the timber and caught them slow rolling swimbaits also. Pretty scattered.. the discharge will be packed. Wind sucks on Monticello, not too many spots to get out of it. Water was 68ish at discharge. Low 60's up by Smith creek.

I miss Monticello. When I lived in mid cities area in the eighties, that was my go to lake. Live in Corpus now. Odd to read about guys doing drop shot. We use to throw big worms & big Bagley cranks back then. Use to be one heck a fishery if you knew where to go. Love it when the eyes of the rod froze and had to dip rod in water to thaw them out. Good luck to you lucky guys able to go there.
