Are night crawlers the best producers for big drum?

Drum eat pretty much anything other gamefish eat, personally for big ones Id be using good size gizzard shad or crawfish.

In the wild they eat alot of crayfish but I have also had caught drum using cut bait in areas with fast moving water like beneath flowing spillways. I catch them all the time while cat fishing at lake Ray Roberts Spillway. Its $7 per person and no fishing licence is needed or $70 per year for all the TX state parks. I cast up stream with no little or no weight using cut bait or fresh caught shad and always end up with a few drum. Also Very tasty fish that are easy to filet. Not sure why they are considered a rough or "trash" fish. I love to eat the drum more than catfish.

Here are some pics of some drum I caught this year while catfishing at Ray Roberts spillway. Last pic is what the "Lucky drum stones" look like that are in the Drums head. Made out of same material as pearls and often used in jewelery like ear rings. Each drum will have 2 of these by the ear bone. Never eaten drum? You gotta try it fried or baked!
